We tested several recipes for buttercream frosting. This one is our favorite - kids and grownups agree it tastes the best!
If you don't like using shortening, omit it and add another stick of butter. Keep in mind, shortening will make the buttercream hold up better, especially in summer if you've got your cone cakes outside.
Want chocolate icing? Add a half cup of cocoa powder and another 2 tsp. milk.
You can add all types of extracts for flavor, give it a try!
