I had a bag of leftover jelly beans from my previous Easter Cone Cakes blog post and was trying to figure out what to do with them. What would be most fun? Last month I had kids decorating cone cakes at my trade show booth and several said "I want to make the bunny!"...but we weren't making bunnies. Knowing how much kids loved that bunny I had on display, and also with the new fondant I have in my kitchen (see post HERE about Fondarific fondant), I came up with this silly idea.
This is a fun activity for Easter Sunday! On your dessert table, put out bunny cone cakes, missing their noses, and tell the kids they get to pick out which jelly bean they'd like for their bunny's nose. They push it into the frosting to make him whole...then comes the best part...they can eat him!
As you can see in the photo above, I created a "Pick Your Nose" sign - just print, cut and fold. I attached mine to a popsicle stick, or you can just tent it on the table.
Below are more photos and 2 videos: One on making these bunnies, the other on how to make cone cakes.
