Many people these days eat a gluten free (GF) diet, including children. Fortunately there are a variety of tasty products on the market that make it possible to still enjoy dessert.
You and your children can make gluten free cone cakes! Using gluten free batter and cones, follow our recipe with a few minor changes:
1. You will need to fill the cones with more GF batter. Don't fill to the top, rather about 3/4 full.
2. A customer told me to put a pan of water on the rack underneath the cone cakes. This prevents them from drying out. She sent a photo, see below.
3. Bake at 325 degrees F, but GF cone cakes will take longer to cook than regular cone cakes. The recommended cook time is approximately 25-30 minutes. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick in the center of a cone cake, if it comes out clean they are done.
